Ghout Jo Saman (Groom’s Items)

Location(s): Pabuhar, Mithi and Baloch Muhalla, Nagarparkar
 
Ghout jo saman refers to items given to a groom by his bride and her family in Meghwar community of Tharparkar. These include the items used by the groom during his engagement and wedding ceremony, including Joro (groom’s wedding dress), beth towal (loose cloth), karn bandharo (waist tie made of cloth), vatu (wallet), phento (turban), moor (headress) and bugchi (envelope shaped purse).
